President
Tridip L. Sarma is a seasoned professional with over three decades of cross-sector experience spanning Oil, Tea, Automobile, Sales, Insurance, Power and Infrastructure. A 1985 Mechanical Engineering graduate from Assam Engineering College, he entered the power sector mid-career, working with Japanese (EPDCI Ltd) and Australian (SMEC Ltd) consulting firms in both thermal and hydro domains. He later transitioned into Human Resources, eventually retiring as Head – HR from Patel Engineering Ltd.
Tridip is widely respected for his people-centric approach and leadership in HR, organizational development, and strategic planning. A trained Life Coach and certified Commercial Mediator, he is also an entrepreneur deeply involved in ventures that nurture personal and professional growth. As a motivational speaker, he is regularly invited to campuses across India, inspiring students and professionals. Author of the book Cool Dad’s Life Hacks, he was honoured with the Lifetime Contribution Award by Assam Productivity Council.

Vice President
Musfiqur Rahman, a 1985 Mechanical Engineering graduate from Assam Engineering College, is a highly accomplished professional with over 35 years of experience in Inland Water Transport (IWT). He retired as Additional Director, IWT, Assam, where he led the $150 million World Bank-funded IWT Development Project, transforming Assam’s river transport infrastructure with modern terminals, vessels, and safety protocols. Known for his expertise in vessel design, crisis management, and project leadership, he played a key role in cross-border waterway operations with Kolkata and Bangladesh, and in transporting over-dimensional cargo for the Numaligarh Refinery. His career spans multiple leadership roles across Assam, enhancing ferry services, optimizing logistics, and mentoring young engineers.
A certified ship surveyor and advocate of sustainable transport, he has visited over 14 countries post-retirement to explore global water transport systems. Passionate about eco-tourism and innovation, he continues to contribute to the development of river tourism and waterway logistics in Northeast India.

Secretary
Saamarjit Chakravarty, a 1985 Mechanical Engineering graduate from Assam Engineering College with an MBA in Marketing, is a seasoned energy sector professional with over 36 years of experience. A Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (FIE) and Member of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (MIIIE), he began his career as an Aviation Officer with Indian Oil Corporation. Soon after, he joined North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), where he rose through the ranks to retire as Executive Director. His diverse contributions spanned Project Monitoring, Corporate Planning, Human Resources, Legal, Estate Services, and Technical Planning across multiple hydro and gas-based power projects. His leadership has been instrumental in the strategic development of power infrastructure in Northeast India.
Widely respected for his cross-functional expertise, he continues to serve as a regional resource person for power engineers, sharing insights and guiding the next generation of professionals in the Indian power sector.

Treasurer
Kishore Kumar Sarma is a distinguished Electrical Engineer with over 36 years of experience in the petroleum industry. A 1985 graduate from Assam Engineering College, he joined the erstwhile BRPL in 1986, contributing significantly in electrical maintenance, power plant operations, and project execution. He played a key role in commissioning the electrical systems of the DHDT project ahead of schedule. Certified as an Energy Manager in 2013, he also developed expertise in electrical system studies and relay coordination. In 2006, he was deputed to the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, for a course in Development Management. After serving in various capacities at BGR for 26 years, he was transferred to Guwahati Refinery as Chief Power & Utilities Manager and later promoted to General Manager (P&U, IT).
He concluded his career as Chief General Manager (Technical) and Refinery Head from Digboi Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation in January 2023. He has a deep interest in economic affairs and financial planning.

An alumnus of the 1985 batch of Assam Engineering College (AEC), Rajat Chandra Sarmah brings over 36 years of distinguished experience in the power sector, retiring in 2022 as Executive Director of a Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU). A prolific writer and Amazon bestselling author of three out of six published books, he has been honored with several prestigious accolades, including the Golden Book Award and the International Tagore Award for Literature 2024 by DRDC, along with multiple national recognitions. He is a Fellow of both LEAD International and the Institution of Engineers (India), and holds a Level-C certification from the International Project Management Association (IPMA).
Widely respected for his thought leadership, Rajat Chandra Sarmah is a sought-after speaker at national and state-level seminars and workshops. His contributions span engineering, leadership, and literature, reflecting a unique blend of technical acumen and creative expression.

Deepak Kumar Goswami, an alumnus of Assam Engineering College (1985 batch), is a distinguished professional with over 34 years of experience. He retired as General Manager from Assam Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (AIDC). Holding a BE in Electrical Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and a Diploma in Bamboo Technology from China, he played a pioneering role in conceptualizing India’s first Bamboo Technology Park and contributed significantly to the Bamboo & Cane Policy of Assam. He held additional charge in Assam Hydrocarbon & Energy Company Ltd., supporting oil and gas initiatives. He also served as Managing Director of Assam Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. and Pragjyotish Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd., driving industrial growth and entrepreneurship.
Widely respected for his leadership, he was a core contributor to national investment summits and strategic policy planning. With international training under UNIDO and management programs from IIM Ahmedabad and NIMSME Hyderabad, he now consults on bamboo-based projects across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Khalequz Zaman, a 1985 Mechanical Engineering graduate from Assam Engineering College, built an illustrious career in India’s oil and gas sector with ONGC. He began as a Drilling Engineer in the Mumbai offshore fields, contributing significantly to hydrocarbon exploration. After seven years, he was posted to Assam as Drilling-in-Charge, where his team drilled a record-breaking 5 km-deep well — the deepest in Upper Assam at the time. Later, in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, he held key roles as Budget and Audit Coordinator, balancing technical operations with financial oversight.
Following a brief return to Assam as Drilling Manager, he was posted to Baroda as Drilling Operations Monitor for all ONGC onshore rigs across India. He retired in February 2022 as Chief General Manager, leaving behind a legacy of operational excellence and leadership in one of India’s most critical industries. He now resides in Guwahati, enjoying a well-earned retirement after decades of impactful service.

Satyendra Sarma, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Assam Engineering College (1985 batch), retired in 2023 as Executive Engineer from the Irrigation Department, Assam, after serving in key positions including his final posting at East Kokrajhar Division, Kokrajhar. A native of Nalbari, he began his academic journey at Debiram Pathsala High School and Cotton College, Guwahati.
FBeyond his professional life, Satyendra has been passionately engaged in sports, culture, and social service. A former athlete turned organizer, he is an Executive Member of the Nalbari Sports Association. He also plays a vital role in promoting local culture as President of Asom Natya Sanmilan (Nalbari Branch) and Nalbari Friends Society, and has performed in numerous dramas and festivals.
As Secretary of Nabarun NGO, he has led the renowned Swahid Smriti Cricket Tournament for decades. A published writer, his stories and articles have appeared in acclaimed magazines like Prantik, reflecting his deep connection to society and literature.

Arun Ch. Saharia, an Electrical Engineering graduate from Assam Engineering College (1985 batch), began his professional journey with Hindustan Paper Corporation before joining the Irrigation Department, Government of Assam. With over 34 years of dedicated service, he retired in December 2020 as Executive Engineer. Throughout his career, he played a key role in the successful commissioning of several important irrigation projects, earning a reputation for his technical acumen and leadership.
Apart from his engineering contributions, Arun has a deep passion for education. Over the years, he has mentored numerous students aspiring to enter Engineering and Medical streams, offering them valuable academic guidance and motivation. His dedication to nurturing young minds continues even after retirement, reflecting his enduring commitment to societal development. A respected figure in both professional and academic circles, Arun Ch. Saharia is known for his quiet integrity, practical knowledge, and willingness to support the next generation.
